Dourie Brick
Dourie Brick

Dourie is the brick mark of P and M. Hurll from the Gartliston Brickworks,
Glenboig, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The brick was found in Ravenhead at the old site of Alexandra Colliery that was active in mining coal from 1867 - 1925.
It is unclear what the date the brick was made and when it arrived at the colliery. It is also unclear how it arrived there but there was transport via a railway to the colliery that has long been dismantled as well as the buildings. The remains of the engine house is still present but is overgrown.
