Perrens & Harrison Stourbridge
Out walking this evening and returned to Ravenhead Road. I had seen a brick on the side of the road the evening before but did not have my cleaning brushes with me to clean and further identify. The brick mark is very faint but it appears to be a Perrens & Harrison Stourbridge brick. This location of the find is where there was once The Ravenhead Copper Works. Copper came from Anglesey to Ravenhead via the Sanky Canal (old location now filled in Canal Street) to be smelted. There was also shipments from South America (Argentina). It was cheaper and more cost effective to bring the copper to where the coal was in abundance.
