St Elyn's Olde Brickes turns 73.
St Elyn's Olde Brickes turns 73. Since the inception of the idea and the collection. I have now collected 73 full bricks and photographed them. Every brick signifies 73 walks and rambles that I have undertaken to explore the memories of my childhood around Ravenhead near the Old Tea Pot brickworks that is now the Greengate Glass Factory, plus further afield.
So far I have fought with brambles and barbed wire, getting a few scars along the way, battled with mud and tree branches but the rewards have been worth it. Touching and owning a piece of a bygone age is something special. Thinking about where these bricks came from, which company and brickworks who made then, the year they were made and the workforce employed. Industrial archeology at is best. Enjoy.
